On March 3, 2023, Demi Lovato returned to the pop-punk sound with their new original song ‘Still Alive.’ Written for the horror film SCREAM VI, the vigorous single is Lovato’s first release since their 2022 album HOLY FVCK, which debuted at #1 on three Billboard charts. The song includes an array of valorous lyrics, such as "Give me something to sink all my teeth in / Eat the devil and spit out my demons,” and "Chasing the ghosts that would haunt me at night / Facing my past cause I’m up for the fight,” then comes together with the catchy main line of "Still alive / I don’t wanna just survive." Along with the record comes a fierce and fitting music video, directed by Jensen Noen.

The music video features cameos from Ice Nine Kills’ Spencer Charnas and Linkin Park’s Mike Shenoda, who also holds songwriting credits on the track. Within the captivating and cinematic three minutes, Demi and their friends arrive at a private screening of the new film. However, it’s only a matter of time before they realize they are being targeted by Ghostface himself. This intersection between reality and the world of the film ends when Demi becomes the "Final Girl” and battles with the character.

Demi states, “I couldn’t think of a more perfect home for ‘Still Alive’ than within the Scream universe. I’m a huge fan of the films, so it’s an honor to contribute to such an iconic horror franchise.” SCREAM VI, a Paramount Plus and Spyglass Media Group film, was released in theaters on March 10th, and Lovato’s contribution plays in the beginning of the end credits.
