LCD Soundsystem, Steve Lacy and boygenius Bring the Heat at Re:SET
Edited by Anna Mengani
Despite the immense summer heat, the attendees of the Re:SET Concert Series stayed in high spirits throughout the weekend watching amazing live shows.
June 23-25th was the last weekend of this month-long tour all over the country. I had the opportunity to photograph the closing act each night of the three-day-long series and was extremely impressed with each set.
The Re:SET Concert Series took place on just one stage with a variety of acts playing full-length sets over the course of the weekend. This was very convenient for the concert-goers who didn't have to walk from stage to stage like how other festivals are set up and a great opportunity for the artists to share music they otherwise wouldn't during a shorter set.
The colorful nights included a giant disco ball reflecting LCD Soundsystem fans dancing to their favorite upbeat song, Steve Lacy playing his guitar effortlessly while bubbles from the crowd float around the stage, and boygenius performing in drag to protest Tennesse's recent anti-drag bill.
With local food and drink vendors to shine a spotlight on music city's culinary scene and The Parthenon replica towering behind the stage, everyone was getting the perfect Nashville experience at Centennial Park.
