Supah Sayin Shuts Down Criticism With Single 'Double Dutch'

Edited by Anna Mengani

Supah Sayin is a 25-year-old rising psychedelic rapper/songwriter based in Dallas/Fortworth Texas. His career ok off as an underground SoundCloud artist in November 2020 and his loyal fan base was by his side in August 2022, streaming on all platforms. Supah Sayin is back with the single 'Double Ditch,' where he vents his heart out about being an underdog.

'Double Dutch' features a strong, steady beat, which made me bop my head to it the entire time listening to it. The rhythm reminds me of the 90’s rap scene, with similar sounds to early Bone Thugs-n-Harmony.

The lyrics pull the entire song together, adding to the defensive tone. Supah releases his frustrations about everyone always undermining him. He clarifies the doubters have no effect on him, “people talkin on my ego like it’s only going south”. The critics don’t change his mentality, he describes only working towards his goals and he “ain’t hearing all the doubt.”

The single is a great representation of smaller artists and the struggles of critics constantly doubting your future and success. We can’t wait for Supah Sayin to drop his debut album Neo-Lizard King on April 7th! We will be chanting the lyrics aimed at his critics.
