The Rose: Radius, Chicago, Illinois
Edited by Ella Dygert

South Korean pop-rock band, The Rose, performed at Radius in Chicago, Illinois on October 11th. The concert kicked off The Roses’ Heal Together World Tour. My friend and I went into this show with high expectations and immense excitement. We have never seen The Rose perform live before, but knew we were in for a treat. The evening was met with cold and rainy weather. Although, that didn’t dampen the mood since the fans created a warm and welcoming atmosphere, even before the show started. Seeing the room speckled with colorful light from their newly designed lightstick added to our enthusiasm as well.
The Rose opened with their single “Definition of ugly is.” I felt intense goosebumps hearing Woosung’s mesmerizing vocals fill the venue for the first time. The band moved through their setlist with high energy and passion with the support of the crowd. They played a well-curated mix of older tracks and new songs from their recently released album Heal. I was most excited to hear “California” and “Red” performed live and was not disappointed. Both singles are two feel-good singalongs with upbeat instrumentation. The show concluded with a special performance of “Black Rose,” a song dedicated and named after their loving fans.
If you have the chance to see The Rose during their Heal Together World Tour, then you’re in for a truly healing experience. They will be touring across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia until the beginning of 2023.
