Tuk Smith and The Restless Hearts Release Striking Rock Ballad

American rock band Tuk Smith and The Restless Hearts released their first single “What Kinda Love” in 2020 then released their EP Covers From The Quarantine in 2020. Before the unfortunate pandemic in 2020, they were scheduled to tour with Mötley Crüe and Def Leppard. Tuk Smith and The Restless Hearts are now back with their latest single and music video “Everybody Loves You When You're Dead” and announced their debut album Ballad of a Misspent Youth.

"Everyone Loves You When You're Dead" focuses on the realization of your support system. It describes the harsh reality that when you’re alive and possibly struggling, no one is there for you, however, when you're gone, is when people come out, and suddenly all care for you and love you. This is delineated in the chorus, “nobody loves you when you're down and out, in the end, everybody loves you when you're dead.” Additionally, the single accents the struggle of society and its constructs, then ultimately rejects that by declaring nothing will even matter “in the end.”

Their official music video features an Elvis alias. Elvis is shown drinking and smoking in what looks like a struggle. During this time, no one seems to notice him or really care about him. This is illustrated again through the lyrics in the chorus,” nobody loves you when you're down and out.” Next, the video exhibits Elvis backstage, making his appearance similar to his younger self by spraying his hair on his hairline to hide the receding hairline. He then makes it on stage and it seems the crowd is really enjoying the performance. However, he takes off his glasses and realizes no one was really enjoying it, and instead, it seems people were actually laughing at him.

We look forward to finally hearing Tuk Smith and The Restless Hearts’ debut album on November 4th!
